I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, and grew up at the meeting point of different cultural perspectives. Turkish culture introduced me to values such as community, connection, and belonging, while my Western-oriented education also exposed me to perspectives that place greater emphasis on individuality, autonomy, and self-expression. Alongside my clinical education in Psychology, I completed a second major in Sociology, a minor in Philosophy, and a certificate program in Gender Studies. These different fields have helped me look beyond the individual and consider the wider social, relational, and systemic influences on our mental health and sense of self. They have also encouraged me to remain curious about how factors such as social expectations, identity and gender roles can shape our experiences in ways that are not always immediately visible.
My approach to therapy is collaborative. I may bring psychological knowledge, theories, and tools from my training, but you bring something equally important: your lived experience. You are the person who knows your own life from the inside. I therefore do not see therapy as one person having all the answers and the other receiving them. Instead, I see it as a process we build together, where we can explore your experiences with curiosity, understand patterns that may no longer be serving you, and find approaches and tools that fit you as an individual. My role is to guide and support you through that process rather than decide where your journey should lead.
My training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and Schema Therapy. I have also completed courses focusing on ADHD and autism, an area I feel particularly passionate about. I am deeply interested in understanding neurodivergent minds and in exploring how therapy can better recognise and respond to different ways of thinking, feeling, processing, and experiencing the world.
Creativity is another important part of both my personal and professional interests. I am also developing myself in Art Therapy. I believe creative expression can offer something that words sometimes cannot. Art can provide a non-verbal way to explore and express emotions, while the process of creating can be calming, meditative, playful, and challenging. Outside of my work, creativity continues to take many forms in my life. I enjoy painting, drawing, working with clay, music, and dancing. I also love traveling and discovering new cultures, reading, practising yoga, and playing RPGs. I offer therapy in English and Turkish.
