Therapy process

Our therapy process; from Registration to Treatment completion

Step 1: Registration

  • Start by Making an appointment.
  • Once we receive your registration and the required documents (such as a GP referral and insurance details), you will receive an email with a link to complete an online screening form. After completing the form, we will add you to our waiting list.

Step 2: Screening

  • We will screen your application to determine whether Inter-Being Psychologists is the right fit for your treatment.
  • If we cannot offer the right treatment, we will inform you by phone or email and refer you back to your GP with recommendations for appropriate care. Otherwise, you will remain on our waiting list.

Step 3: Intake (1 or more sessions)

  • Once you reach the top of the waiting list and a therapist becomes available, we will schedule one or more intake sessions to gain a deeper understanding of your needs.

Step 4: Advisory Session

  • Our team will assess your diagnosis, care needs, and treatment plan. If specialized mental healthcare (SGGZ) is required, your case will also be discussed in the MDO (multidisciplinary consultation).
  • In the advisory session, we will discuss these findings with you and make a joint decision on whether to proceed with treatment at Inter-Being Psychologists, including an estimated treatment duration.  If we determine that your needs would be better addressed elsewhere, we will refer you back to your GP with recommendations for appropriate care.
  • If necessary, additional diagnostic assessments may be conducted.

Step 5: End of Intake Phase and start of your Treatment

  • Start of therapy

Step 6: Periodic Evaluations

  • For specialized mental healthcare (SGGZ): Progress will be evaluated every six months with your therapist and main practitioner, and your treatment plan will be adjusted as needed.
  • For general mental healthcare (BGGZ): Treatment will be evaluated upon completion. If necessary, we may refer you to specialized care (SGGZ), or your treatment may conclude.

Step 7: Completion of Treatment

  • When your therapy concludes, we will discuss the next steps with you by mutual agreement. If additional treatment is needed, we may refer you to another therapist or mental health care organization.

Referral to other Health Care Providers
Our priority is to provide you with the best possible care. If at any other point during treatment we identify that specialized support is required, we will facilitate a referral to a more suitable healthcare organization.
